We really need to work on your hair-trigger. [Blurs back with a blanket and towels and starts trying to make sure the guy doesn't go into shock.] He'll live, I think.
[He continues to vibrate until his temperature increases enough to stop. Soaking wet from melted ice and looking thoroughly disgruntled.] Yeah well. I guess that'll teach me to go running without looking.
[She holds her hands up because he could be a meta that is part of
the New Rogues. Speedsters couldn't all be trusted. But still, he looks
kind of familiar.]
Or just appearing on different Earths without introduction or preamble.
Which one are you from, anyway?
I was kind of running away from a psychopathic speedster trying to both steal my speed and punch a hole through my chest. I kind of wasn't counting. [He drags a hand through his hair.] I don't know. Fifteen I think?
If he did I'm pretty sure we'd both be dead. [Barry pulls himself up, leaning against the wall, pale and tired.] I lost him. I don't know for how long though. I should.. I should go.
[Crystal thinks on it, chewing on her bottom lip a little then
extends her hand to him]
My house isn't far from here. And my parents are on patrol tonight. I could
heat up some of dad's five alarm chili and let you warm up there for a
little bit before you really have to go.
[Chili. Food. God he's starving and while Barry should keep running, he knows that he needs to stop, regroup. Make a plan, just like Snart had taught him.] For a little while. Then I'll keep moving. Keep him away from here.
[She waves him along and lets him into the house, moving around to
get her coat off and grab the throw resting on the couch and handing it to
him.]
You're okay with hot stuff, right? Because dad actually means five alarm
when he makes five alarm chili. And what was up with that speedster
stealing your speed?
The hotter the better. I haven't found a pepper I haven't liked yet. [He wraps up in the blanket without argument. He could vibrate to warm himself the rest of the way up, but without a decent meal in him, he'd probably pass out right after.]
Total psycho. Called himself Reverse Flash. [A snort because hello stupid name.] I didn't really hang around to ask once I figured out what he was after.
Stupid name, right? [Okay so glowing red eyes were on the scarier side of things, but he's not currently running for his life so he can make a little light of it.]
A Flash? I'm not sure what you mean. That's what you call speedsters here?
The Flash is a family friend. He's mentioned something about other
Earths. Those other Earths also have someone that is called the Flash. He's
the only speedster I know of. There's also Kid Flash that runs around
sometimes.
[You mean Jay? Don't worry, he won't call you on it. Barry is far too busy inhaling the chili and cornbread in front of him to bother with being that rude.]
I've heard stories about other earths, multiverse and all that, but I've never heard of anything called a Flash or a kid version of it.
[Do not antagonize the overgrown puppy. He may keep coming around.]
Yeah. I'm going to keep moving because I'm pretty attached to that whole breathing and existing thing. And I don't want anyone else getting hurt in the process.
You mean with cold? [Because she'd hit him pretty hard with it and he was still clutching that blanket even as the chili warmed him up from the inside.]

I really hope so.
[she waves her hand and the ice disappears back into the air. The rogue that had attacked her falls over onto the pavement, shivering]

He came out of nowhere! What was I supposed to do?

Bart, we just worked on even making a wall last week.
[She calls the anonymous line for a pick up of the rogue. Once she hangs up, she looks at him.]

Maybe it’s the company I keep because trouble keeps finding me.
[She brushes a hand over her clothes. Fail date when your date turns out to be a bad guy. She takes his hand, relieved]

[when they stop, she gives a sigh of relief]
I didn’t mean to actually freeze him. He kind of surprised me with the whole Rogue talk and then went off the deep end.

I'm sorry! You scared me! Jay always said to be careful of breachers!

Psychotic speedster?
[That gets her attention.]
They didn't follow you, did they?
[She looks at him more carefully.]

Hey, hey, no, not after all of that.

Reverse Flash?
[That's a name she's heard of before. Once she finishes heating up the chili and cornbread, she brings it over to him]
And what, he was trying to steal your speed, you said? Are you a Flash? I mean, the Flash from your Earth? Have you met the Flash here yet?
no subject
A Flash? I'm not sure what you mean. That's what you call speedsters here?

He's just the Flash here. I think he'd have his hands full if there were that many speedsters around.
And uh...sorry about the...
[She waves her hand]

[A facial shrug as she apologizes.] Hey, you're feeding me some pretty amazing food, I think we're good.

I'm still learning how to control them. They're kind of all over the place.

Are you really going to keep running to run away from him? Maybe he can be stopped. There's a lot of metas here that are on the side of good.

Yeah. I'm going to keep moving because I'm pretty attached to that whole breathing and existing thing. And I don't want anyone else getting hurt in the process.

[She might as mom if she can keep him]
What if they don't get hurt in the process?
[It hits her who he reminds her of]
You...wouldn't happen to be Barry Allen, would you?
no subject
I'm not as fast as he is. He's psychotic. I don't want anyone else to get hurt.
[Blink. He sits back a little.] How.. how did you know?
no subject
[She gets up when she sees the empty bowl and warms up the rest of the chili because there's some left over]
We have a family friend. You look like him, kind of, if he actually was cool.
[Here, have another bowl of chili]
What if there's a way to slow him down?
no subject
It's dangerous.
He could kill someone.

Basic physics. Ice is the last thing a speedster would want to be around; it's being frictionless so you can't run as quickly.
