[ One day Nora will make Danse see that he is so much more than just a good little soldier. He's also one of her best friends. He deserves Nuka-Cola just as much as she does. ]
Next time I head north you should come with me. There's some interesting places up there. Fog and monsters that want to kill you, but what else is new, right?
We could even go fishing. You said you wanted to go, right? There's bodies of water with live fish in.
[ Being a soldier is something that gives Danse purpose in his life. And with his life having been tossed right on its head, following the orders of someone gives him some form of purpose. ]
Are these regular fish, or have then been mutated just like everything else has been since the war? But either way, yeah, I'd like to go up there just to see it for myself.
[ And he then begins to take the lead to show Nora where he saw the herd of rad stags. ]
I never asked what the fog up there did to people.
Well~ there's plenty of mutated aquatic life up there - anglers, gulpers, hermit crabs. There's even mention of ghoul whales but I haven't seen one personally - just whale bones alone the shores. But there are plenty of regular fish too. Probably highly irradiated but then most things are these days. If they're cooked well I can't imagine them being any more irradiated than the other meats we cook.
[ Nora follows, Righteous Authority in hand - she's carried it proudly ever since he gave it to her. It's her pride and joy. ]
For the most part the fog's fine - irradiated, like a mild rad storm. Fine in power armor or well stocked up on Rad-X. There are stories of people getting lost in the fog and going crazy though.
[ Danse figures the creatures up there were radiated and mutated just like everything else. And while he normally would carry a laser weapon, Danse doesn't want to run the risk of turning dinner into a pile of ash. ]
But I have no intention of wandering off, or going to a place like that without my power armor. So where else have you been outside of the Commonwealth?
About as lovely as everywhere else. Nuclear Annihilation - does wonders for the ambience of a place, I find.
[ Nora also has her 10mm pistol with her. She has other weapons she likes to carry when she's in power armor but doesn't like to weigh herself down too much when she's without. ]
Far Harbor, Nuka-World, and the Commonwealth are the only places I've visited since the bombs fell. Back before the Great War, Nate and I would go visit places when we had time though. I imagine these days it's all pretty similar.
