You are right, that rushing to death is difficult to understand... Although, it does depend on the reason, to rush-- there are reasons, and some that vary on circumstance. Some acceptable, some others might not view that way.
You're referring to the inevitability of the thing. [Someday Methos might die, but he'd made a pretty good run of it thus far.] It will happen for everyone. Eventually. I'm not pretending that's not the case.
[Although perhaps he hoped he may be the exception.]
[ Pushes the glow stronger than before, brighter. ]
Death is private-- or... the ideas one holds. They tend to be. It's something that is hard to talk about honestly. It makes sense. You're broaching the topic for a reason, though.
{Methos was eyeing him, curious. Was he seeing things, or was the man brighter than before?] 'The ideas one hold.' Are you talking about what comes after death? The ideas people have on that...?
I've never been all that convinced there is anything beyond it. Which is why I try to avoid it at all costs. [Perhaps he knew differently?]

You sound troubled.

I'm no more troubled than usual. I've had too many reckless friends.

[ Smiles.]
That's understandable, then. Honestly, we were not talking about the same things... but sometimes, I understand why someone might be reckless.

What were you talking about, then? Spread some light on your side of the conversation.

Death can be the only option. Which, I suppose, makes the word "option" a funny sort.

[ Too much of this seems to be blowing back, so he sucks in a gentle breath and musters a standard issue smile. ]
If you can. It makes sense -- to avoid the beyond. It's not a choice, often enough.
