Oh, I don't have a lady. Ladies aren't my type. [ Despite the mixed signals from Faith. That had never worked out. ]

They're just for me and my sister. [ Doing mom-type things. Her life. ]

[That earns a confused look from Gwen]

Your...type? What do you mean your type?

The women-loving type...not that I don't love women. Just not "in love" love...we're having totally different conversations, aren't we?

[ She hopes that isn't too awkwardly phrased. ]

[Gwen is confused then her eyes widen when it hits her what the strange woman was talking about. She gives an embarrassed laugh.

I think we actually are. Can we start over? I'm Guinevere. Everyone calls me Gwen? I'm getting flowers for Lady Morgana.

Hi, Gwen! Buffy Summers. I don't have that kind of lady either. Not many noblewomen at home. [ Halloween magic aside. ] Though looking after Dawn is kind of a job in itself. At least this is pretty nice for a chore.

And where is home exactly?

In the United States. I don't think you're allowed to be noble there...though I gotta admit I was never good at this class when I took it.

[ She'd known moving to Europe wouldn't give her and Dawn an escape from weirdness, but she's still surprised. ]

[that earns another confused look. She looks at the flower monger then pays for her flowers then pays for Buffy's flowers as well]

Would you mind walking with me back to the castle?

[ She's a little taken aback. That was really nice. And did not involve any money Buffy would've used. What kind of place did she wander into? ]

I guess not.

[ Buffy doesn't sense any threat from Gwen. Of course, she hadn't sensed anything else being off, when clearly something has happened.

Or maybe she just headed into a really old-fashioned place...who was she kidding? Things were never that simple for her. ]
