She blinked at that, brow creasing a little: "Returning to neutral, I suppose." There was some kind of amusement in her tone as she gestured at her too-pale face, "This? This is the illusion, the shadow is what I really am."

Her voice had the edge of a Parisian accent, not just French, but the quick, not-quite-mumble of Paris-city French.
