[He looked up at the door as the lead crew told them they were at jumping height and it was time to go. He looked back at Bridge, then out the door again. Even leaned a bit to look out.

Daniel seemed like he would sit back down to land with the plane, but then visibly screwed up his courage, nailed it to the sticking place and jumped out into the open sky.]

[His grin widening, Bridge then gave a salut-wave to the crew before jumping out after Daniel.]

[His fear vanished by degrees after the jump, as if the rushing wind itself blew it away. He felt a rush of exhilaration, even openly laughing as the wind and the sky caught him up.

As if automatically, magic sparked over his arms and formed black feathers, creating more wing-like shapes. He winced a bit like it pained him, the partial transformation to his bird form (that he never could quite completely all the way anyway), but on reopening his eyes and glancing himself over he laughed again. The wind felt somehow better going through his feathers.

He didn't flap but he did keep the wings out, catching the air, then swept them alongside his body. Whatever apprehension was felt before was completely forgotten now, and he looked to be having the time of his life.]

[Watching Daniel, he laughed a bit, and with Daniel's wings spread out Bridge was able to catch up to him on the descent, doing a few flips and spins on the way.]

[He looked over at Bridge and caught his eye, then gave him a thumbs up. It was a bit awkward with the position of the claws on the wing but he managed something that resembled one in any case.]

[With a thumbs up of his own, Bridge then tucked his arms in and angled himself down, streamlining himself to shoot straight down.]

[He snickered and grinned, flapping his wings twice to catch up, angling down like a falcon.]

[Continuing to descend, he did a few more flips before finally pulling the cord on his parachute, and the chute catching the wind slowly his fall.]

[Not long after Bridge deployed his chute Daniel did the same, hooking a claw through the loop of the ripcord's pull and giving it a yank. The chute flared up above him and opened up wide, the wind rustling gentler around him now as his fall slowed down.]

[With their fall slowing, it was a gentle ride back down to earth. Pretty soon he touched down, and glanced up as Daniel landed as well.]

[Once recovering from the landing he looked up at Bridge, laughing a little giddily in the leftover adrenaline.]

Okay. That was pretty great.

See? Told you it's fun.

Yeah, it was.

[The ground crew came up to help them shrug out of the gear, which was a little more difficult in Daniel's case, but doable.]

I still don't know how you talked me into it, but I'm glad you did.

I didn't really say all that much, man. It was pretty much, "Hey you wanna do a thing?", "Yeah, let's do the thing."

Saying yes was on you.

[He gave him a good-natured punch in the shoulder.]

It's true but that doesn't mean you have to say it.

[He snickers.]

I think we both know that I do.

[He rolled his eyes and shook his head.]

Yeah, yeah.

So, home?

Unless you wanna go again.

[He looked at his hands, which still remained locked in the transformation. Then he snickered lightly, looking up at Bridge.]

Yeah, I guess one more jump couldn't hurt.

[With a grin, he nodded.]

All right! Let's go!

[He nodded and grinned, talking to the crew with Bridge and going back up. The second jump went just as well as the first, though they both decided two was enough and headed back to Bridge's place afterward.

The only problem was, Daniel couldn't get rid of the damn wings. The feathery change had made the actual skydives that much more enjoyable, but now it was a nuisance for multiple reasons.]

Have you tried concentrating on your regular form?

[Bridge had some experience with transformations, though his was either forced (like when he hit the water) or just a certain aspect (like his wings), so something like this wasn't as familiar to him.]

You say that like I haven't been trying. Or like you haven't gotten locked before.

[He did the "chicken wing" motion which, considering his predicament, looked pretty spot on.]

I might have to call my uncle if this doesn't go away soon.

[Not that he sounded excited about that.]

I was just wondering. But yeah, it can be hard to change back, especially if changing in the first place was out of your control.

What did cause the transformation in the first place?
