OOC: True. August's world is pretty much Sherlockian Descendants with less magic and more financial crime, so...yeah.

Well what does thinking well of the rest of humanity have to do with ruling them?

This is August's life now. He is actually having this conversation with a kid wearing a hook who reminds him strongly of his oldest brother. All Lucien Moriarty needed was the hat.

Underestimating and thinking well of people aren't the same thing.

[Harry kind of rolls his eyes, which consists of rolling his whole head. He's also under the impression that fear is probably the best way to rule them, but that's just learned experience.]

"No, but I've found that the sort of people who want to rule the world are the sort who tend to underestimate others and overestimate their capacity to manipulate the rest of humanity."

Well I'm not doing it alone. There'll be at least three of us.

Crew? Co-conspirators? August is hazy on the correct term for teenage pirates.

[Harry raises one eyebrow. What exactly is this blond pretty boy asking?]

"Sure. And the third person in your crew. You all have a plan for when you rule the world?"

The blond pretty boy increasingly doubts that anyone really has a plan for anything.

Harry shrugs, narrowing his eyes.] Not yet, but we're not starting our coup without a plan. [Duh.]

The hook did, actually, but August can be a bit preoccupied when he gets...lecturing.

"I don't mean a plan for the coup. I mean a plan for after. What's to stop someone else from staging their own coup?"

[Well Harry gets real impatient when he gets lectured so August can knock it off anytime now.]

Oh aye I'm sorry, you think grabbing power and keeping it are two different plans? That the plan to keep power would have nothing to do with taking it?

Oh, this is never going. Neither is the personality I have to go with it. A personality, I might add, that comes from being my own person and not under the thumb of someone who smells like shellfish.

I've had this journal a couple months or so but I just found out about SWS
